Maa Tarini Temple is situated in Ghatagaon at a distance of about 45 kms from Keonjhar. This is the chief shrine of Goddess Tarini. A daily prayer is offered to the deity. Every week, Tuesday and Saturday are observed as the day of Maa Tarini and devotees gather in the temple to pay homage to the goddess on these days. Instead of priests, the daily rituals are done by a group of tribal people called Dehuri. The main festivals celebrated in this temple are Makar Sankranti, Maha Visubha Sankranti and Raja Sankranti. Well maintained road from all major parts of the district connects to this temple. The nearest railhead is HARICHANDANPUR, Jajpur Keonjhar Road Railway Station.
